By downloading or using Frownie, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
What Frownie is
Frownie is a macOS app that watches for frowning and taps you on the shoulder to relax your face. It is a habit-nudging tool made for fun and self-awareness — it is not a medical device, not medical advice, and not a substitute for professional treatment. Frownie is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any cosmetic-treatment brand or provider.
License
Buying Frownie grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to use it on your own Macs. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and there is nothing to renew. Please don’t resell it, repackage it, or use it to harm others.
Payment and refunds
Purchases are handled by Polar Software, Inc., which acts as the merchant of record and is the seller on your receipt. If Frownie doesn’t work for you, email us within 30 days and we’ll refund you — no argument. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you also have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days, which this policy does not reduce.
Losing your license key
Your key is tied to the email address you bought with, and you can recover it any time from the link in the site footer. We can’t recover a key for an address you no longer control.
Your responsibility
You’re responsible for how you use the app and for your own device. Frownie only surfaces reminders; acting on them is up to you.
No warranty
Frownie is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate in detecting every frown.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for any indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app.
Links and third parties
The app and site may link to external services (such as GitHub for downloads, or a web search for booking appointments). We aren’t responsible for their content or terms.
Changes
We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the current version.
